Bad Reaction To Face Cream

Doom stragglers: Electric Wizard - Black Masses / Bongripper - Satan Worshipping Doom

many it will be noticed that in my musical Year in Review two really important albums were missing. Bongrippers "Satan Worshipping Doom" and "Electric Wizards" Black Masses ".
was the part to the fact that the Electric Wizard LP has moved constantly, so I was eventually forced to bring me the CD version (fortunately, the vinyl now arrived and is very famous now in its execution) and Second, I've slept through the plate Bongripper just completely.
Ok, Bongripper. The Americans've treated after four outstanding long grooves two-year break to now release their fifth opus on the following.
There are four songs on the album, the creative legally "Hail", "Satan" Worship "and" Doom entitled. "Were the colorful cover with his occult figures is the line of approach before.
It is completely dispensed with vocals, so that the listener fully concentrate on the instrumental juggernaut that already from the first track on it rolled up. "Hail" is a 13-minute doom metal song with the repetitive riffs that are extremely rocky and bone-dry Stoner Metal passages broken. Yes, it is slow, but almost hypnotic in its effect. Just great.
It continues with "Satan", which begins with a droneartigen distorted sound to break up with black metal will incorporate both drumming and shimmering guitars over the phone beginning. For Doomverhältnisse we are thus at high speed pace.
creaks and cut the song to himself varies, after 4 minutes and escapes back to Black Metal Part dusty direction Doom Rock.
The melodies are, surprisingly, always catchy and remain ready to hang in the ear. After another minute, the riffs gallop it, to be finally scrapped in extremely groovy rhythms. Spectacular!
Then there is a mistake and it goes in Break Down pace with nackenbrechendem groove. This simple gods of their craft at work.
that the songs are made sick and juicy, yet still sound like dusty and dry, strangely , But will listen to while enjoying this disc is all you can be!
come the end be extremely clear guitar melodies and by the accelerator pedal is (relatively) entered.
"Worship" begins with long guitar stops and it takes until the drum turns on and sets the hypnotic rhythm. The catchy melody is countersunk into the ear canal and is repeated for several minutes with little variation. In between the song structure is decorated with delicate sounds and reduce the rate again. But this time without shattering downbeat, but becoming more and more slowly until the sound is almost silent. Then there is heavy further and the head nodding involuntarily to the beat until it quieter, is more rock and dissonant sounds cheat in between. The song conjures up not the devil himself, but put the listener into a trance.
It just happens so incredibly much in the songs. They are like an acoustic tour, where you constantly smiles to himself, because it is discovered very cool arrangements, or cut down by a particular reef.
The conclusion, "Doom", then skin and neatly on the poop. Very slowly he
los stamps and remains first for a while. Very nasty with some Downtempo Drone Doom Holzt one-way located in the tree after another order.
"Doom" is also the slowest song that constantly lets his acoustic waves waft through the headphones.
bottom line is one, for genre friends, varied album that impresses with brilliant ideas, to the inexperienced listeners, however disturbing and one-sided, perhaps even boring, can contribute.
Now we come to something more accessible record of the evening.
"Black Masses" by the British legend Electric Wizard. After the first tones is striking that the production definitely had a little more pressure to bear. All sounds a little low and pushed into the background. OK, that does not so great about, BUT the musical aspect but all the more convincing. With the first piece and at the same time title track has been laid a famous brand of catchy "Dunwich" vigorously Bundles. Incredibly compelling, forward rocking starts the part and mastermind Oborn whining going on in his distinctive way. Simply wonderful. The black mass is thus opened. After the initial clean it continues with the, in my opinion, even better, "Venus in Furs". The echoed vocals and droning guitars enchanted with excellent senior melody arches. The song is really one of the greatest Doomsongs of last year.
"Night Child" opens with bells, but after a few seconds shred go of the string instruments. Once again, we shook a knotless, incredibly catchy chorus from the sleeve. Although he does not meet the qualities of a hits such as "The Chosen Few", but convincing nonetheless. "Patterns Of Evil" is there one better with a subtle and strong potential hit chorus. Oh yes. Slowly and with lots of pedal use this stag suppressed by the speaker diaphragm.
an incredibly emotional piece offers us "Satyr IX. Oborne tortured body winds through the song on a low-tuned and played incredibly slow Klampfenklängen. An absolute highlight at the plate, accompanied by an ecstatic solo.
"Turn Off Your Mind" is another wonderful jauligen chorus. "Scorpio Curse" is qualitatively from easy, which means but still, that it crumbles to dust 80% of the competitors. The drug-impregnated Song curve with the percolating riffs and extremely rocky passages leads me even to revise my opinion of the song and positive way.
Finally there is the song "Crypt of Drugula", a pure acoustic number on the song "Satanic Rites Of Drugula" appeals (an absolute masterpiece). The object and the vigorous use of samples and a gloomy atmosphere already celebrated almost Drone Doom.
Lyrically, you move, as almost always, in the field of naked witches on the love between Cthulhumythos craft, to the eponymous black masses.
The girl and the boys from Dorset have to give it back down into the powerful tool for us to proffer this hallucinogenic concoction. Unfortunately it can not surpass the previous "Witchcult Today. That was nearly impossible. But there were simply too many hits on it and milestones of Doom. "Black Masses" ranks a close second, however, one on a par with "Dopethrone".
The presentation of the vinyl is simply breathtaking. Not only that the two 180 gram sheets have evocative black and white design, the artwork with altars bier lady in the candlelight, fits perfectly to the psychedelic sounds.
These two publications have already generated a solid foundation to sit back, relax and wait for the next Doomplatten.
with Earth is already the next aspirant, and genre veteran in the starting blocks and will next week release of "Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light", the first part of a two parts to the masses. The album is here can completely legal and authorized by the band listening test (only until 7 February!). Whether the opposite appears more this year, is at present uncertain. The Artwort Stacy Rozich however, already provides pretty good.
